| December: Tis the Season The holiday season is here and so is the stress that comes along with it. Pets undergo the same holiday stress that we do. Changes in household routines can bring about changes in your pets behavior. When the festivities begin, pets should be provided a safe haven in their home to escape the stressful situations. There are some veterinary products available which can help to alleviate some of the holiday stress. There is a product called Composure, Feliway for cats, and DAP (dog appeasing pheromone) for dogs. All should be started as soon as possible to be most effective. Consult your veterinarian for assistance with any of these products. Christmas trees are potentially hazardous for pets. You should keep glass ornaments above waist height; tinsel should not be used in cat households. Cover the water basin under your tree to keep pets from drinking it. You should tie up the Christmas tree to keep it from falling when your cat decides to climb it. Holiday sweets should be kept up high away from wandering noses. Chocolate is toxic to pets, especially in large quantities. Holidays also mean travel for some families. If you are planning a trip, you need to make boarding plans for your pets. You need to choose a boarding facility which you are comfortable with. We advise you do a drop in visit of a facility well ahead of dropping your pet off on your way out of town. Once you have approved of the facility and made your reservation you need to make sure your pets vaccinations are up to date based on the kennels requirements and your veterinarians recommendations. You should provide your pets food, a toy, a blanket or article of clothing from you to leave with your pet. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coupon Good toward $3.00 off Purchase of in stock pet supplies During the month of December
